10:43 Dassault Aviation announced the development of a new business jet Falcon 6X
French manufacturer of business aircraft Dassault Aviation announced today the development of a new business jet Falcon 6X. It is expected that the new model will make the first flight in early 2021. Deliveries should begin a year later. Business jet will borrow aerodynamic qualities and subsystems from the Falcon 5X model, whose development was discontinued in December 2017 due to problems with the new Silvercrest engine manufactured by Safran Aircraft Engines. Recall that these difficulties caused a prolonged delay in the certification of the new aircraft. For the Falcon 6X, Dassault Aviation selected the Pratt & Whitney PW812D gear motor with a thrust of 5900-6300 kg (13,000-14,000 pounds). He will become the new representative of motors of the PurePower family. The engines of this family are already used on passenger Airbus A320neo (PW1100), Bombardier CSeries (PW1500), Embraer E-Jet E2 (PW1700), Mitsubishi Regional Jet (PW1200) and Russian MS-21 (PW1400).
The Falcon 6X will have a flight range of 10186 km (5500 miles) and a top speed of 0.9M. The aircraft will receive a combined vision system FalconEye.
